Established in 1999, The Third Party Marketers Association (“3PM”) plays an active and pivotal role in industry advocacy and education on topics ranging from regulations, firm development, and contracting, through marketing and sales best practices worldwide. Our membership roster includes established and new 3PM firms, investment management firms, service providers and other industry associates who support our endeavors.
The Mission of the 3PM Association is to advance the outsourced investment management marketing and sales industry through:
Education: develop an understanding of the importance and complexity of establishing a professional investment management marketing distribution and sales effort;
Information Gathering: we act as a central hub of industry information for fellow 3PM firms and investment managers, and;
Advocacy: we seek to work with state and federal agencies on a voluntary basis to support industry best practices.
3PM works closely with its members to:
Promote 3PM Industry Awareness
Advocate and educate on behalf of our constituency
Act as a clearinghouse for information that enhances the reputation of our industry
Network with peers to assist in finding opportunities, and
Benefit from vendor discounts

Often, investment managers begin their research into third party marketing by visiting 3pm.org. It is not uncommon for Association members to receive direct inquiries as a
result. Since most 3PM firms will not represent managers competing in the same asset
class, members often refer potential clients to each other, enabling firms to grow both
the industry as well as their top line.

Annual Conference
3PM’s Annual conference provides members an opportunity to network and discuss issues facing the industry. All topics and speaker presentations are geared specifically
to 3PMs and managers to help members better manage their firms on a day-to-day
basis. In addition, we have a pre-conference day available for firms who are accepting
new clients where they can see back-to-back presentations from funds looking for a
third party marketer and of course have the opportunity to meet those partners.
European Member Conference
The first European member conference geared toward specific needs of European 3PMs will take place in 2020 / 2021.
